It's not often that a coach admits his side were terrible but sometimes you've just got to state the truth... Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic believes his side deserved to lose after a less than perfect display against Lazio on Saturday night in Rome.
The Rossoblu simply couldn't handle the brilliance of Mauro Zarate and the Argentinean hitman bagged a double to put a dent in Bologna's survival hopes.
In the post-match media scramble, the coach could barely contain his disgust at the manner of the 2-0 defeat and admitted his side didn't deserve to take anything from the game.
"We played very badly today," Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia.
"It was a fairly balanced game until the first goal. Zarate cut our legs off. I changed things around in the second half and we improved but then there was no game after the second goal.
"Apart from today, we had done well in our previous games against Udinese, Napoli and Inter, but we deserved to lose today.
"We didn't manage to do anything today, we were poor on the passing and shooting. However, the league is still long and we will fight until the last day of the season," mused the former Lazio player.
"We just have to work more and make less mistakes on the pitch."

Lazio always had a soft spot in my heart considering the number of Argentine players that have played for the club. Veron, Crespo, Lopez for example.
ReplyDeleteIt wonderful to see Zarate getting back his scoring touch as I was worried about his form. Hopefully, good old Diego Maradona will call him for the Albiceleste next assignment. We do need a striker like him.
By the way, you're from Indonesia (next to where I live, Malaysia). You guys too have fine football players like Bambang, Boas, Elie and many more.
