Contrary to latest reports, a representative for the Estudiantes defender has revealed his client will not move to the Biancocelesti next summer. Press reports suggested in recent weeks that Serie A club Lazio were on the verge of wrapping up a deal for Estudiantes right-back Marcos Angeleri.
The player himself had reassured the Laziali supporters that he would land in the Italian capital, but his agent Miguel Pires seems to have now sensationally pulled the plug on the transfer.
“There are no scheduled meetings with Lazio,” Lalaziosiamonoi.it quotes Pires as saying on aperturapincharrata.blogspot.com.
“This is all I can say, in my opinion there will be no deal with Lazio and Angeleri will not play for this club," he affirmed.
The 25-year-old’s contract with the Argentine club will run out next June and he could have joined the Aquile on a free transfer, but Pires also hinted that the door was open to negotiate a new deal with his current club.
According to Lalaziosiamonoi.it, the player’s representatives have blocked the move to push their client towards Inter, who are also said to be interested in his services.
