Claudio Lotito: No Doubts In Delio Rossi Or His Lazio Side
Although the club are on the downward spiral, the president has his eyes fixed firmly upwards...
Lazio president Claudio Lotito is still keeping the faith in his coach and his team, maintaining the belief that they can reverse the club's poor recent run.
The 1-1 draw with Torino on Sunday saw the Biancocelesti slip further away from the European places and their main objective for this season, which is to qualify for the inaugural Europa League.
Nevertheless, the chief has maintained confidence in his side's ability and he has laughed off talk that his coach is in the line of fire.
"Plenty of teams have been doing badly but have been able to come out of it,” Lotito told Il Corriere Dello Sport. “I hope that Lazio can do the same.
"We have put together a team that is capable of competing with everyone. We have to reach our objectives rather than just think about them.
"We have set ourselves a date to talk about things around April. We have not been able to reap anything from our first five games, which doesn't reflect the quality of our team."
A number of reports have spoken of Delio Rossi's days being numbered, however, Lotito doesn't agree.
"I hope we can begin to get the right results because we haven't always been justly rewarded for the efforts we have made on the pitch," added the chief.
"I have always said that Delio Rossi’s job has never been put in doubt.
